Both the Radio Times and Cosmopolitan have included Dark Heart, with Tom Riley as DI Wagstaffe, in their recent lists of upcoming TV dramas to look forward to this autumn. There is no broadcast date for the series yet, but at least we know that US and Canadian fans will also be able to watch via Britbox. Dark Heart is a 6 part series, which is comprised of 3 2-part stories. The first 2-part story originally aired on ITV Encore in 2016. The 4 new episodes were filmed in London March - May 2018.

Dark Heart – ITV

From Chris Lang (writer of Unforgotten) comes this six-part drama. The pilot originally aired on now-defunct channel ITV Encore, but it went down so well that it now has a full series. Tom Riley stars as DI Will Wagstaffe, a cop haunted by the murder of his parents when he was a teenager. The series will see him trying to solve brutal crimes while also attempting to hold his fractured life together. Radio Times.

Dark Heart

ITV's six-part drama from Unforgotten writer Chris Lang stars Tom Riley as DI Will Wagstaffe - a man haunted by the murder of his parents when he was 16 years old. Set in London during a heatwave (doh!), the drama is inspired by characters created by novelist Adam Creed, who has written a series of books featuring Will Wagstaffe. As he battles with the unresolved murder of his family, he forms a close relationship with his sister Juliette, played by Charlotte Riley, and young nephew Harry, who stays with him when Juliette has troubles with her boyfriend. Dark Heart is coming to ITV this autumn. Cosmopolitan
