A new interview with writer Chris Lang, promoting ITV series Dark Heart has been shared today by The Daily Telegraph. Worth a read, especially for the kind words about Tom Riley as DI Wagstaffe.

Lang’s latest drama, Dark Heart (which returns at the end of the month following a pilot last year), also showcases his ability for emotional truth. It features a superb, subtle performance from Tom Riley as DI Will Wagstaffe, still haunted by the death of his parents who were murdered when he was a teenager. No one was ever brought to book, and Wagstaffe’s pain manifests itself in a compulsion to push beyond the boundaries of what is considered acceptable policing in order to get results, as if he is trying to compensate for something unresolved.

Dark Heart begins on ITV Wednesday 31st October 2018 at 9pm. Viewers in Africa can watch on DSTV from 6th November. The series will broadcast on BritBox for those in the US, though no date has been confirmed yet.
