Starfish: 2017 Galway Film Fleadh screening

It has been announced today that Starfish will make its Irish premiere at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh, which will run from July 11th to 16th. Festival details will apparently be revealed on June 27th.

UK film 'Starfish' will play at Galway after an impactful small release in the UK. The true story of what happened to Tom and Nic Ray, a couple whose love was tested to the limit when Tom became ill, apparently overnight, with sepsis.

A huge positive for the release of the film so far has been the way that audiences have been able to learn about an illness that affects around 9,000 per year in hospitals in Ireland, and 150,000 in the UK, with a tragically high level of avoidable deaths.

Tom and Nic Ray have been campaigning vigorously for sepsis awareness since the first release of the film and will be attending the Galway screening to support the film, hoping to continue to spread the word.

Starfish: recent market screening at Cannes Film Festival

It seems that Starfish had a market screening at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, thanks to The Little Film Company, earlier this month on 20th May. Details of the screening time and location can be found here and here. More info on other films being promoted bt TLFC can be found via this link. There has been no news of sales so far from Cannes.

Starfish: release in Taiwan & new film stills

According to the Taiwanese World Screen website, Starfish was released in Taiwan on May 5th 2017. Thanks to Google Translate, a few Taiwanese sites showed up with some new, hi-res stills from the film, not shared for the UK release. A number of them are of Tom as Tom Ray. Check them out via this link. The text translations seem to call the film My Starfish Father.

There is a new poster for the film's release in Taiwan (see above), and it would seem that the film was awarded 5 stars by World Screen.
