There is an excellent video showing the VFX breakdown for The Nevers by Italian company Effetti Digitali Italiani. We see a great scene with Tom Riley's character Augustus Bidlow towards the end of the video. Check out the EDI website for more information. If you are interested in more behind the scenes tit-bits, Variety posted an article discussing the VFX and fight scenes in The Nevers.

There is also news about a new executive producer and director for the filming of the second half of season 1. According to Deadline, Andrew Bernstein is joining The Nevers.

Andrew Bernstein, a director and exec producer of HBO’s The Outsider, is heading to 19th Century London after boarding the premium cable network’s drama The Nevers. Bernstein has joined the show as an executive producer and director. It comes after the finale of part one of the first season of the series, which has aired six episodes and will return for another six next year.

The show is currently in pre-production and is set to return to filming the second half of the season this summer.

Philippa Goslett, the British filmmaker behind features Mary Magdalene and How To Talk To Girls At Parties, is showrunner of the period drama after Joss Whedon, a somewhat unusual combo of writer, director and showrunner, exited the series last November.
