An award winning actor, producer and director, Tom Riley most recently finished filming Murder Is Easy, a new Agatha Christie adaptation for the BBC and Britbox, which will air December 2023. Tom was last seen on television screens as Augustus Bidlow in HBO's The nevers, DI Wagstaffe in ITV series Dark Heart, and in Netflix series The Woman In The House Across. Tom was last seen on stage in 2023 as Gerry in Dancing at Lughnasa at the National Theatre. On cinema screens in UK and USA Tom was Adrian in indie film Modern Life Is Rubbish, Chris in Netflix's Extinction, Thomas in Ghost Light, and can currently be seen as Lt Willis Keith in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial produced by Paramount.

Tom has received wide critical acclaim for his stage, television and film performances, although he is perhaps best known for his leading television roles - Leonardo da Vinci in three seasons of Starz fantasy drama series Da Vinci's Demons, Charlie in BBC2's Ill Behaviour, DI Will Wagstaffe in ITV's Dark Heart, and Claude Sabine in Amazon UK's The Collection.

Other notable television roles include Adam in BBC2's Inside No 9 'The Twelve Days Of Christine', Robin Hood in BBC's Doctor Who 'Robot of Sherwood', Laurence Shepherd in both series of ITV's Monroe, Gavin Sorensen in ITV's Bouquet Of Barbed Wire, and Mr Wickham in ITV's Lost In Austen.

Tom's leading film roles include critically acclaimed indie films Starfish and Pushing Dead, the adaptation of John Niven's dark comedy novel Kill Your Friends, comedies Ghost Light, Happy Ever Afters, I Want Candy, and thriller A Few Days In September.

Along with superlative reviews, Tom has also received awards recognition for his stage and television performances. These include a best actor win in the 2014 BAFTA Cymru Awards, and an honourable mention in the 2014 Cablefax Awards, for his role as Leonardo da Vinci in Da Vinci's Demons. Tom received a nomination the 2011 Drama Desk Awards for his role as Septimus Hodge in Arcadia on Broadway, and a nomination in the 2010 Off West End Theatre Awards for his role as Bach in Hurts Given and Received. Tom's other theatre credits include the 2011 world premiere of Stephen Poliakoff's My City, numerous productions at the Royal Court Theatre, and the 2018 UK premiere of Sarah Burgess' Dry Powder at the Hampstead Theatre.

For BBC Radio 4 play Henry's Demons, Tom received a special commendation as Best Actor in the 2012 BBC Audio Drama Awards.

Tom was involved in drama in his home town of Maidstone, Kent from the age of four and spent his school years writing and directing plays. Tom set up a small theatre company (Article 19) with friends, and also had a radio show, while studying English Literature and Drama at Birmingham University, graduating in 2002 with first class honours. He started the three year Professional Acting Course at LAMDA the same year, completing his studies in 2005. Even though it meant he spent six years as a student, he believes his current success as an actor and a producer has proved it worthwhile.

Tom's ultimate aim in his profession is just to do work that he can take pride in; that he would want to show to his friends; that he would seek out if he were not in it and that his heroes would enjoy. He acknowledges that it is not an easy path to follow but is encouraged to stick to it as best he can, whilst still trying not to take himself too seriously.

Tom's work ethic in 5 words: Do good work. Enjoy it.
